Set 10194 Emerald Night

This set is a model of a steam engine. The train is designed after the Flying Scotsman.
Besides the steam engine the set comes with a tender and one passenger wagon.
The passenger wagon is not available as a separate set. A lot of fans would like there to be a separate set but the Lego company just wants to keep the Emerald Night exclusive. You can however order the pieces on a brick supplier website, but this will cost you a lot of money.

I recently bought this set and it was a lot of fun to build. It took me about 2 hours to assemble the whole thing. For a lego train fan this set is an absolute must have.

Go here to buy one!

Hope you enjoy this set as much as I did.

Set 4564 Freight Rail Runner

This is one of my first Lego sets. It was a birthday present from my parents in 1995. It was perhaps the best gift I ever got, which says a lot because for the first 10 years of my life I got Lego sets every year.

The set consists of a yellow and black locomotive, a flatbed for the small containers, a blue mail wagon with a tipping mechanism for the mail, and last but not least the coal hauler.

There are not a lot of track side elements only a truck for the small containers and a platform for the truck to get up to the flatbed.

This set also is one of the few published with two different instruction manuals. Most other sets only have pictures of other designs.
