New 2013 Lego Modular, 10232 Palace Cinema

Finally it is here! The new modular, Palace Cinema.

The rumors were true, it is a cinema. This image was found on the Lego website. The official announcement is expected soon and the set will probably hit the shelves somewhere around March.

One of the cool things about this set is the dark red baseplate. It is either a 32 x 32 or two 16 x 32's.

As of this set all new modular buildings will be part of the Creator Expert theme.

Aughnanure Castle

A beautiful castle today. Constructed by "Mark of Falworth".

The castle is based on a real castle in Ireland. The real castle does not sit on a coastline or river.

The water is created beautifully, the round 1x1's are simply deposited around the castle. The use of different colors makes it very realistic.

Christmas in London

Christmas is almost here and loads of beautiful Christmas creations are here already!

This is a scene from London in the 1890's. A very cool creation by Flickr user "G∆be Umland".

The creator has done a great job here. The lampposts are decorated with beautiful bows and there is even a small choir singing in the streets!

The inside of the building is very detailed and fun to check out.

Cuusoo Summer Review Results!

Finally the Lego Cuusoo team has released the results of the summer review!

It is great to hear that the Back to the Future DeLorean time machine has made it trough the review. The final model is expected to become available mid 2013.

Unfortunately the rest of the projects have not passed the review.

Here is why:

Eve Online ships
The business case was considered to challenging.

Modular Western Town
Is conflicting with an ongoing project at Lego. (the don't say which project but we can assume it is the new Lone Rangers Theme).

The Legend of Zelda
Too many new molds would have to be made for this theme. This would require an investment that is not within the boundaries of a Cuusoo product. They do note that when a project does note pass the review it does not mean there could not be similar projects in the future.

Check out the review video on Cuusoo!

Lego The Lone Ranger 2013

Lego has announced the arrival of the new Lone Ranger theme. This new theme, based on the movie starring Johnny Depp, will be coming in April 2013!

With the release of this new theme Johnny Depp will become part of the select group of actors who have a minifig in more than one theme.

Already in this group are:
Warwick Davis as Griphook, Professor Filius Flitwick (Harry Potter), Wicket and Wald (Star Wars)
Harrison Ford as Han Solo (Star Wars) and Indiana Jones.
Orlando Bloom as Will Turner (POTC) and Legolas (LOTR)
Ian McKellen as Gandalf (LOTR) and Magneto (X-Men)
Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool (X-men) and Hal Jordan (Green Lantern)
Did I miss any?

Helena Bonham Carter also has a role in The Lone Ranger. It is possible her character makes it to one of new sets in this theme. She is will then also become part of this list since she portrayed Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter films.

Check out the Lego page for The Lone Ranger!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2013

Lego has announced the arrival of a TMNT theme in 2013.

Here are three of the sets that will be launched in 2013. The sets are based on the new tv-series by Nickelodeon. The minifigs look great but the sets look a bit strange, guess they don't if you are fan of the series.

Just like the LOTR sets you probably need to purchase most of the sets to get all the minifigs.

Rialto Bridge, Venice

New sets 2013

Several new sets have shown up on the internet in the past weeks. Here is an overview of what is to come in 2013!

The new Chima theme, to replace Ninjago. It seems that the theme and its sets resemble animals. It looks just as playable as the Ninjage theme. Also the minifigs look like animals. This should make the animal loving Afols very happy.

The Super Heroes theme continues in 2013 and these are some of the new sets. Several new heroes and villains make their appearance, like Aquaman. Also there is a Tumbler in the Batman set. It is expected that there will be several Avengers and/or Ironman 3 sets released in 2013.

Star Wars is still going strong in 2013. A new A-Wing set will be released, this is the fourth A-wing to date. The Rancor Pitt expansion to Jabba's Palace looks great and makes a fun addition. Besides several Clone Wars sets there is also a new Old Republic set.

Also in the Star Wars theme the Planets Series is expanded. Series 3 and 4 will be released in 2013. This time one of the sets is an asteroid belt instead of a planet. And there is also a droid instead of a minifig.

These are some of the sets that will be released in 2013. Of course there will be new sets in other themes as well.
